Swim lesson #2

September 20, 2013 (Afternoon)

Exercise Type: Swim

Comments:
Busy day: was scheduled for 1.5 worth of overtime today...wasn't thrilled with it, but that essentially pays for my lockout charge from Sunday!

After that, I had to haul ass on my bike to pick up my car, which was detailed this week. Looks incredible! They did a phenomenal job; about 10x better than the last detail I had. Looks "new"!!

From there, I booked it to Junction City for PT. VERY GOOD session. My "hamstring pain"? Locked up SIJ. Mike got that freed on the L and it was an incredible difference in mobility.

Between that and the treadmill test on on Thursday, here's what's going on...the BIG picture...finally...I think:

- I push off shitty on my right, which causes:
--- R ankle/heel pain
--- R low back pain
--- "tightness" in my R abs (since they never get stretched out)
--- weird arm swing (L elbow out, R arm crosses in front)

- My trunk shifts left, which causes:
--- general overload of my left leg (L lateral foot pain, L medial knee pain)
--- "closure" of the L SI joint, because I'm so far L that I can't normally push off that side

That said, what I need to do is (in order of importance):
1.) Strong L elbow back AND R arm forward in my stride
2.) "Feel" myself push strong on the R and "stay right" with my trunk
3.) "Finish" the stride with a nice push-off left

Pretty simple, right? ;-)

After PT, I hauled ass to Corvallis to meet Sarah for swim lesson #2. We did a lot of pelvic/trunk mobility stuff, which very closely mirrors what needs to be done in the run stride, which is cool. Lesson was about :40 long, then I swam another :20.

Headed home, and hung out, intending to go to bed early in prep for the 3 Sis run, but got "distracted" on FB! :p
