October 15, 2013 (Afternoon)
Exercise Type: Run
Weather: high 50s, nice, dry, sunny!
Comments:
Pretty good day at work, but I was busy with my UR deadline: no AM swim, no lunch strength. I also bailed from the hunt to run solo, so I could work on the finishing touches.
Took Zyrtek and a bunch on inhalar doses after yesterday's rough run. Felt good, w/low HR, as a result.
The focus again today was butt back, knees back. And, like yesterday, it hit me: THE B SKIP!!!
The idea of a straight-leg pawback (the "PULL" that I was all about in 2010, which, coincidentally, was my fastest marathon year ever) came to mind! Of course! When I did that - and really did it well in the second half of the run - my quad felt totally relaxed and it was all about that "hip snap back". That also - paradoxically - took pressure off my hamstrings.
Still tight in the L hamstring, in large part because A. I'm still overstride/landing on the L, and B. too narrow, but ultimately C. I need to "pawback" better on that leg. It wasn't super tight during the run but I felt it afterward.
Good run, in the 7:0x pace. AHR: 147.
