October 20, 2013 (Morning)

Exercise Type: Run

Comments:
Today was D-Day. The idea was to try one last long run to determine if Autumn Leaves - or ANY run goals for the rest of '13 - were doable. My malaise - including chronic hamstring tightness - has precluded anything long since Three Sisters. I needed a good long run to feel like it's doable.

Thought about going up to McKenzie, but I didn't want to commit to that 2hr RT drive, so I just ran in town.

Was worked up immediately this AM about Chelsea - I knew I needed to get back to her. But I was totally dreading it. This carried over into the run.

Despite taking a Zyrtec pre-run, my HR was HIGH the whole time: like 140-155 for >8min pace! WTF! Even worse, my hamstring got tight again, despite my best form efforts. So depressing.

So...I'm DONE. No Autumn Leaves. And even DS is in jeopardy. What I realized, though, is that my hamstring stuff is SI joint dysfuction - from my trunk lingering L so much. I think I'm disguising that reality by self-correcting my back all the time - so I don't realize I'm "Hangin left"....maybe all day!

So:

- two weeks no running
- wearing SI belt daily at work
- maybe 2 swims a week
- hiking's OK
- no Autumn Leaves
- DS still questionable.

Dunno...this sucks. I was really down about it, and the text exchanges with Chelsea didn't help (even reading that her and Jefe are splitsville).

BUT, I got a huge boost after going to the ballet - so awesome! Very inspiring to see such great performances. After that, had a really fun hang-out shopping with Claire, and a good convo with her afterward.

Overall, a good day and a great weekend. I needed it. I do feel like I have a lot of great things going, but...when running's NOT going well...it's tough to be positive. And when, I'm still crazy-low on real female intimacy, it's tough to stay balanced/grounded.
