Comments:
This week commences "sharpening phase"...like a ten-day phase, pre-Sonoma! Ha! No matter, I think it will work great.
The workout today was "relay" 400s - kids were paired up in equal ability: run a 400m, rest when your partner runs.
Did 9 of them, split between various runners. Did the first 4 with Mason, a good soph kid I've been working on with his core/hips. He was supposed to run 73 +/-, which we did. Then I ran a couple with Spencer, a frosh I'm also working with in the clinic: we did a couple at 74-76. Then I did two with our top guy, Reilly. TOUGH to keep up with him, running 69-70! Then did one more with Mason to make 9.
Man it was TOUGH to endure the burn, but damn, did I recover fast! Got my HR under 120 in under 30s, and began each rep UNDER 100hr, with only 70s rest! Awesome!
Did some cooling down with the fellas, then headed home. Fun day! First true speed session in a long time!
