short lunch run

BUSY day! Packed up, did a bunch of little errands...AND had to see a full patient load today!

Didn't get to bed 'til nearly 11, so there would be NO AM run. Instead, I snuck out at 2:15, as my 3PM patient was doing a metabolic test (and I didn't have to treat her).

Ran 4mi in south EUG + 4-6x 50m strides. Felt *a little* clunky (ankles/feet more than anything), and the R glut was a little sore, but otherwise pretty good! Strides felt good. I NEED to do these more often (like at least 2x/week, if not 3-4x!).

My last patient no-showed today, which was a nice gift, so I was on the road in Mr Roberts' Prius at 4:45. Nice drive, as always - lots of NPR then iPod Tunez.

Pushed the envelope a little more with Kaci: basically asked to CALL her tonight (on the road, as opposed to FB chat). She liked it. :-)

It's really not about "pushing it": it's about just BEING REAL. It's clear that I'm interested and so is she, so why pussy-foot around? Let's just be normal and do something that's perfectly safe/normal - just a regZ phone chat - no strings attached. But...be real, and not pretend there isn't a spark there.

We agreed to chat later at night, so I was worried when I got past Klamath Falls, knowing I'd be losing sig soon. I'd texted her earlier to see if she was around...and she wound up CALLING ME! Ha!

It was a nice chat...a little awkward, but only because...well, talking on the phone is just weird, nowadays! But overall, it was good. The phone call was dropped twice, so after the 2nd time, I bid her good night.

It's funny: she TOTALLY sounds like Sara...which is WEIRD, because Kaci *definitely* has a "Midwest Accent" (what is it about those Kelly girls and how they talk? They all talk that way, really!). I laughed a lot; she was really funny. :-)

Just an awesome drive on Cal 139 from K-Falls to Susanville! Fast driving, barely any cars, just really beautiful, even at night.
