Exercise Type: Run

Comments:
Up EARLY. Didn't sleep too well. HOT up in the upstairs of the suite, just like home!

Had some weird dreams about Chelsea overnight. Really sad stuff. Can't remember it all, but I remember crying, just realizing that she...wouldn't love me, I guess. Sad.

In fact, I had Maroon 5's "Sad" in my head when I woke up. Good tune.

Got my stuff together around 5ish and was out the door, miraculously, before 5:30! Didn't feel too stiff, which is also a miracle lately.

It was already quite bright before 5:30, which was cool. And...I started up! Took my phone along, because I wanted to do something special for my mom's birthday.

Ran pretty easy, but UGH, it felt tough! Muscles stiff and oxygen-starved, yet the HR was low (like 140s early?). Kept the watch running the whole time, despite a good 4-5 stops to snap pics on the climb. Hit the AS in :44 (solid), then briefly got lost midway up the climb (didn't go right enough after the steep climb). Not sure what my overall summit was. But it was GREAT to be up there!

Once at the monument, I snapped a "happy birthday selfie" for my mom, then tried to call her. No answer. So I headed down.

Pretty OK descent - saw a couple people from the Med conference climbing up as I descended. I stopped at the "super-old tree" to take a pic, and saw my mom calling! So I talked to her...while running down the mountain! Very fun.

Rest of the day: drove INTO Truckee to get StarbZ...only to find out later there's a StarBZ at Squaw, like 100' from Plumpjack! DUH.

Good 2nd day, but not as good as the first. Highlight was the case studies at the end, including Gary's.

Wed night: hung out with Bob for a bit, then ran into some other folks trickling into town. Otherwise retired pretty early.
