Easy South EUG

July 14, 2014 (Night)

Exercise Type: Run

Weather: 92, hot but dry

Comments:
Pretty good day of work, but got allergy injections at 2:30, so I was really worn by 5PM. It was hot, too, but thankfully a super-easy run was in order.

Ran in my "old" NB 890s from this spring. I washed them in hot water this spring and they're now totally f-ed: the sole is falling off the left one! They suck and need to be retired.

Ran into South EUG, keeping things EASY. Felt crappy at first: fatigue AND some nasty gut rot (allergy meds?), but that subsided in the 2nd half of the run AND improved with better "belly breathing".

Ran through Tugman (and ran into the guy who's living in LB's house - who frequents the clinic: Hope he lets us run from his house soon!), then got onto Rexius and ran nearly the whole way down before turning back.

Ran into Tommy and Dr. Wo at South track. After chatting wtih them, I did 6-7x short strides. I notice I *STILL* have a habit of "flexion bracing" my low back when I sprint hard...which is probably why I'm still struggling with my 200s. In the last few, when I allowed my back to extend open, I was WAY faster.

Though I still have to write my "pacer report", it was nice to go home and not having anything to do. Texted with Kaci a bit, then she called me. We chatted for nearly an hour again! Damn, she's funny. We were talking about her 50K on Saturday: super-hot and muggy, and how it started at 8AM.

Me: "They could've at least started at 7!"
KC: "What about sex?...sex is GOOD!"

Oh my god, I nearly DIED laughing: that she would bust that out (so dead-pan, too), and that I would actually get it. I laughed so hard. Oh geez. She's something else.

Talked a bit about this weekend. I still can't believe I'm going there - it hasn't sunk in yet. Really excited, though.
