Cliff's Vanilla Hunt

November 4, 2014 (Night)

Exercise Type: Run

Weather: foggy but warm!

Comments:
Ran from MrR's new place on "Imperial Princess", halfway up the hill. Cliff led, and he promised a normal, "Vanilla" hunt.

I wasn't feeling very well: I picked up a sore throat and had some general malaise, and I was tired from the downhill session AND a good 9.5 miles at lunch! Woah.

Ran easy from MrR's, but on some steep hills. I fell back with Emily, who's just starting bonafide MAF training at a pretty rough 135 max HR. We shuffled behind the group going up Fox Hollow to the Ridgeline, taking the "old school" west route, then up to the shoulder of Spencer. But Cliff took us all the way up, into the fog, and some slow hiking across the slick rocks to the summit. It was fun to be up there, but the descent off the West face was treacherous, including a fall and elbow tweak by Tommy.

From there, it was a spirited descent on Willamette - truly old school - before turning off on 48th to head back to MrR's.

Felt...OK. Energy and stride was good, but damn, I'm beat up again from that downhill sesh. Slightly less, but...still roughed up.

Post-hunt: hung out at MrR's in his living room, watching election results. The Dems got slaugthered, which I think Tommy appreciated. Things got a little heated when Tommy began to debate Dr Choi about Climate Change. Tommy was citing some contradictory data about MORE ice in the arctic, and that only inflammed some sensitivity in Dr Choi. But things simmered down and we returned to our beer, BBQ chips and cheese logs.

Wore the orange N2 trails, again.
