South Eug + Baldy + Dillard Ridgeline

November 5, 2014 (Afternoon)

Exercise Type: Run

Weather: like, 70? Crazy!

Comments:
GREAT run today. I was tired and a little sick, but the weather - and yet another fantastic mid-day run - more than overwhelmed that.

Ran EASY straight to Martin St, doing two pull-up sets en route. Ran fairly strong up to Baldy. Felt a little tired and worked, but damn, another PR! 10:13...but HR of 169!

Looking back, I'm a good MINUTE faster than I was in July or August. However, this is the "Timmy Effect": running faster, but not necessarily doing it more efficiently. My previous summits were in the mid-11s with HRs <160. So the focus needs to be, for this summit, to do it BETTER (e.g. same speed at lower HR -or- faster at a more sustainable HR).

Sat at the top for a bit, then ran down to Dillard, but took the road, south, to the Ridgeline and ran that all the way to Headwaters, and down.

Another two sets of pull-ups on the way back. Got TIRED in the last couple miles, and the HR started to drift up: a sure sign it's time to be done.

GOOD run, though! Just feeling great, all 'round, running-wise.

PM: went to Bier Stein to celebrate Tommy's wife Carrie's bday. Hanging out with the hunters a lot, which is good.
