easy PRE + SPFD

December 28, 2014 (Afternoon)

Exercise Type: Run

Weather: light mist + breeze, but not too bad

Comments:
Pretty productive day: slept in a bit and relaxed in the AM, then did strength: 4-5 sets of push-ups, abs, pull-ups and some single leg hip work (right leg only this time). Then did laundry and vacuumed (borrowing it again from work). As such, I didn't get out the door to run 'til after noon.

I knew I needed ~12 miles to hit a hundred...but I just didn't feel like it. Sticking it to all the mileage ho's and control-freak (not naming names, here), I figured I'd run less than that and be perfectly happy with it.

No HRM or watch for that matter; ran easy through PRE, then into SPFD and around, through Island Park. Tried to keep it real easy, but I was feeling pretty good in the 2nd half, so the pace picked up a bit. I still averaged probably 8-pace all run.

PM: Callie had a mega-travel day today. Starting in Brevard, NC, she had to drive 3hrs to Charlotte, then take a 5.5hr flight to PDX, which didn't get in 'til 9:30PM....which is 12:30 eastern time. She'd then have to drive the two hours home, solo.

So, as a fun surprise adventure, I met her at the airport: I took the Bolt Bus (a way less sketch, express version of Greyhound) to PDX, then took the MAX light rail to the airport.

It was a BLAST! The bus ride was only 2:20, then I had a bit of time in DT PDX, so I grabbed a good beer, then hopped on the MAX to PDX.

When she landed, I pretended that "a friend of mine was there, and she wanted to give me something"...then I surprised her at security.

She LOVED it. :-p

We then drove home together in her truck, which made ME feel a lot better, knowing she wasn't driving, half-asleep, alone.

Bonus: she stayed overnight. :-)
