Lewis' oddly paced hunt

June 30, 2015 (Night)

Exercise Type: Run

Weather: HOT, like 95

Comments:
Lewis led from the Manspace. Smaller crew, as several were resting for the Rainier run:

OGs: me, Lewis, Tommy
Callie, Matt Thornton (first time in a long time), MrR

Lewis led us up the steep Agate St hill from his house, HARD. I fell back 'til I warmed up, then used my "pelvic-opening stride" to easily catch up. SO COOL how powerful this is, and how it simultaneously makes hill breathing easier, by stretching the diaphragm open! Going to be HUGE for MRT 50K.

Matt Thornton showed up for the first time in maybe two months... a bit out of shape. He ran back with CA, while me, Lewis, MrR (working WAY too hard) and Tommy were relatively up front.

Chatted a bunch about WS today: maybe too much bitching on my part, but some good stories.

Ran midway down Spring then dove east into the gravel roads by LCC, then back...via the Barkley hunt route. This would've been (as is) a great route in the winter, but SUCKS in the summer: tons of briars, overgrown shit and, later, poison oak. Ugh. We went from grinding the first 4miles, towalking the next 1.5...trying to dodge the oak!

Popped out on the ass-end of Baldy and ran Spring back, me jogging easy with Matt. Good run.

Rinsed with soap and water but (two days later) got a bit of oak.
