Hurricane Creek "road hike-snowshoe"

November 28, 2015 (Afternoon)

Exercise Type: Walk

Weather: 20s, nice

Comments:
The idea was to try a new TH today, so Bert and Courtney led: driving us NW to Hurricane Creek, which dives into the Eagle Cap Wilderness. It was plowed for about the first 2-3 miles, then unplowed at the onset of the wilderness-national forest. Bert chose to park the Jeep at the first CG, even though the road continued, which turned out to be an error.

We hiked down to the campground (which was along the creek, but below the access road), and snowshoed along this low trail for about 0.9 miles, before it popped back onto the road. So we just hiked the road, continuing south. It took another full mile+ to get to the *actual* TH, but by then, we didn't feel like going further. So we just hiked the road back.

On the way back, my R ankle got worse, and significantly sore. Bummer.

PM: drove straight to Terminal Gravity Brewery in Enterprise (just N of Joseph), to their brewhouse. GREAT PLACE! Watched some college FB, ate snacks, and had some terrific (cask conditioned?) beer!

After that: to Joseph for this mini-holiday parade downtown, in the dark! It was damn cold (like, teens, but damp?), so we didn't stay long, before heading back to the vacation rental.

Rest of the night: more leftovers, then showed Bert-Court some WS documentaries (DD'83 and RFTS). :-)
