West PRE

December 10, 2015 (Morning)

Exercise Type: Run

Weather: 50, stormy!

Comments:
For sure less sore this morning upon waking and some light foam and tennis ball rolling. Less sore to stretch. However, it was sore walking into work.

Got better during the day; did the lateral ankle taping, again.

So I ran again: another easy 5-miler. Felt good but lingering lateral ankle tendon, but next to no Achilles.

Major focus (in the Boston Boosts) to allow my heel to have a relaxed landing, then actively roll and push through the toes. Again, I think I've just been stiff-legging it for a few weeks...SO annoying...

It felt good, but the active ankle made me a tiny bit nervous...more proof that I haven't been doing it.

So we're supposed to go on our snowshoe weekend tomorrow. On paper it was supposed to be awesome: a chill "taper weekend", hanging at the cabin ("CHERISH THE CABIN!") as we did a year ago. But the Achilles makes me really nervous about this. It would involve a 90-minute or longer shoe in, then a long outing to Maiden Peak on Saturday, then 90-minutes out. Good stuff if healthy, but what about now?

On top of that, the weather here has been INSANE: nasty storms overnight, and THUNDER today - several times! Up at the pass? 1-2 FEET of snow forecasted EVERY DAY the next three days!

It made me really nervous, so I told CA, and we're going to bail on it. Sucks, but I can't risk it. I have NO margin of error, here...

Ran in the Boston Boosts again.
