December 17, 2015 (Afternoon)
Exercise Type: Run
Weather: super-humid, damp
Comments:
Lunch time Baldy repeats. The idea today was to scale back and do "threshold"-caliber reps -- slower, but more sustainable for faster recovery.
However...for one reason or another, the breathing was TERRIBLE - for both CA and I -- and it was all I could do to get up the climb, regardless of HR! Weird...not sure what was going on. High humidity? The air quality was fine... Not sure, but it was TOUGH to breathe...
Stride felt OK, working on:
- shoulder blades
- strong foot
- pushing behind with the hips
But none of it mattered. It was just jacked-up!
Splits (HR)
10:18 (169!!), 9:22 (140)
10:43 (171), 8:47 (139)
10:53 (171), 8:16
Slow descents, on account of the slick mud.
Good workout, but yeesh...annoyingly high HRs for those splits!
