January 5, 2016 (Night)
Exercise Type: Run
Weather: 40, foggy
Comments:
Decided to run with the hunt because I needed to:
- test my foot
- get my quads a little season, so they'd be ready
- do one more test of the new addidas shoes.
Big mistake...or a few small mistakes.
CA led us:
- me, Lewis, Tommy, Dano (Tommy ran short)
- CA, Hammer, Emily
- new guy Jacob Hegge - an ultrarunner from WI who's interning at our clinic!
Ran into and around Hendricks. Nothing too crazy, but good vert: 900' up and down in just under 6miles.
The run was OK. The foot was..."OK" at the time. The shoes...SUCKED. Upon examination afterward, there was like NO torsional control! On top of that, I did not get my orthotics this afternoon, so double-whammy! UGH.
Post-run. It was sore and achy. Not horrible, but almost square-one. SUCKS.
The foot was taped, but it wasn't enough. The shoes - and lack of inserts - was a big mistake. Trying to run probably was, too, but I needed to know.
I think I now know.
