shallow water run at Adobe

January 2, 2016 (Morning)

Exercise Type: Swim

Comments:
Slept in again, then made tea before hitting Drift Inn for coffee and muffins, again. From there, CA left for her run and I went to Adobe resort to try to sneak in again. But like before, there was no one around. Within a couple minutes, CA showed up mid-run and schmoozed a housekeeper to let me in! Score!

The Adobe pool is perfect for shallow water running: about 20m long and 10m wide, and 3-5 feet deep. I ran around and around, all clockwise, some big laps, some smaller ones, and some bounding. Wore shoes.

BOTH feet were sore, but the left wasn't too bad at all! Ran for a whole hour, then showered there and met CA back at the room.

Rest of the day: foot was pretty good, then DEFINITELY tightened up that night. It's pretty clear it's bound up and my soft tennis balls aren't getting it.

PM: drove north up to Pacific City (with tailgate eggs at Cape Foulweather en route). Hung out at the beach (surfers! even though it was like 35F!), then grabbed an afternoon beer at Pelican Brewing and watched the first third of the Ducks-TCU game.

The drive home...was ANNOYING. The Ducks completely blew it and I got really pissed. Then CA got upset for me getting pissed (as her old BF used to act this way with sports), and she got double pissed that I asked her to grab some groceries and walk to the hotel (seriously like "a block") while I watched the end of this crumbling game.

I eventually came to my senses, turned the game off and apologized. We had a nice pre-meal salad in our room (while I scanned on my phone, watching the Ducks lose in 3OT), before hitting Drift Inn for an entree.

I was defintely down about my foot hurting in the PM. It's definitely the fascia, after all...
