Back in EUG - easy Blanton Ridgeline with CA

December 27, 2015 (Afternoon)

Exercise Type: Run

Comments:
Up fairly early and on the road to MSP with my mom. It was a little chaotic at the airport, but not terrible. Smooth sailing from MSP to SEA, then had a nice long chat with Avery while at SEA, to discuss the Bandera race prep. He's definitely ready!

The flight from SEA to EUG was annoying. Upon take-off, I put my phone in my puffy pocket...and I felt it "bloop" out and fall onto the floor (or so I thought). I looked under the seat while we were ascending...and I couldn't find it! I waited a few minutes, then looked more. Nope.

A few minute after leveling off, I got out of my chair and was on hands and knees looking. GONE. WTF?? The flight attendant came over and said I'd need to wait until AFTER the flight landed to look more.

UGH. So annoying! So I tried to patiently wait, all the while the annoyance and frustration was building that it was gone, and maybe someone would just take it!

Upon landing an hour later, the attendant made an announcement as we were taxiing, to be on the lookout. But when everyone looked - and disboarded - still NOTHING! I lingered around, repetively tearing apart my own seat, looking under the seat cushion, to no avail.

"You'll have to report it to Lost & Found", she said.

Just as I was about to leave, I had the notion to look in the seat behind me. There, in the pooch of a magazine holder - behind my seat - there it was! It had hit inbetween the aisle and window seats, then basically slid back and into the backside of the magazine holder!

Fuck, so lucky! Not sure anyone would've ever found it!

Finally got off the plane and CA was waiting to pick me up. :-)

PM: got home, unpacked quick, then went for a run. We'd thought about going for a long vertical run, but we were both mega-tired, so we chose to do a run along Ridgeline in South Eug. Once there, it was rainy and cool, but nice.

But after 20 minutes of running...I was just done. I had that "Hay in the Barn" feeling after the past 9 days - that included about 120 miles of running! - and figured I just wanted to be done! So we jogged easy back.

4ish miles, 40ish minutes with about 720' of vert, but AHR of 115.

PM: grocery shopped, then back to the house.

Glad to have only run 4, because my foot's been pretty sore. Didn't recall feeling it much on the run, but it was good to cut it short.
