easy around Bandera

January 10, 2016 (Morning)

Exercise Type: Run

Weather: "fake cold" - like 40ish, but pure sun and dry

Comments:
Slept in, sort of, the milled around a bit and said goodbye to Avery, who was heading to the airport.

Foot felt ok, maybe a touch sore. I rolled it out a bit, then was intent on running. It felt SO good yesterday (like NO PM soreness) that I decided I'd get after it today and do a "real" run of 4 miles.

I ran by myself, while Ford and Callie ran together. It was cold out, but not nearly as cold-feeling as the thermometer read, because it was sunny and dry. As such, I was hot in pants and a jacket.

Ran from the vacation rental, just outside town, back into town: slightly downhill to the main drag, then through downtown and up and over - a big loop.

FOOT was fine. At times it felt maybe sore, but not really. The stride felt (and looked) great, but at times, I could feel that I wasn't totally relaxing my feet.

Did just a tinge under 4 miles in 31 or so.

Ran in the new Blue Trail N1s.

Post-run: no real soreness at all. Did 3 sets of body weight strength and made breakfast for Ford and Callie and me.

We cleaned up and checked out, and bid farewell to Ford. It was good to see and spend time with him. His association with Koop makes me a little negative about him, but he really is a good kid (albeit misguided - mostly about Koop and training, yet he is always receptive to the things we say).

Checked out and went to the coffee shop again. I JUST remembered this MORNING that I have an iRF article due...TODAY! So we worked there for a couple hours before heading to the airport.

PM: the foot was progressively more sore. Like REALLY sore: it just ACHED, walking around after sitting at the coffee shop, and was irritable at SAT airport. But...after sitting 4hr on the flight to SEA, was fine.

Pretty annoying. I thought I could "ease" my way back into things, but clearly not that fast...

Got home by 1AM.

I'm really glad I went on this trip, even though I didn't run. Had a lot of good experiences.
