January 15, 2016 (Afternoon)
Exercise Type: Bike
Weather: nicer: like low 50s and dry for biking
Comments:
Pretty good day! Busy one.
- Kelly worked on my foot again. Felt even better, but he hammered on it again. I have a feeling that he might be over-doing it a little, but it's good to know it's pretty worked out. I told him I hadn't run all week and he said I need to START running short: I agree. Even if it's a little sore... The tissue feels like 90% healed.
- worked 9-1p today. Andrew Miller (now a freshman at NAU - who's gonna crush Georgia Death race and get into WSER, I think) came to observe me in the clinic, because he's thinking about PT. Good to have him around. Work patients went well, but it was busy
- Got in a nice bike ride: the constitutional. AND! I found my damn Suunto! So I was actually able to track HR. I went "easy", but the HR was higher than usual...then again, my bike seems super-slow right now (low tires, etc).
- Met local client Nick at the yoga studio, looked at his stride, then did yoga: my first class in like a MONTH! No foot problems
- post-yoga: Nick and I chatted at T&G over a beer, then I went home and rendezvous'd with CA. Had another beer and hung out.
PM: foot was sore and achy, but not terrible.
*I WONDER* how much of the remaining symptoms might actually be some plain-old subtalar joint irritation? This would explain why:
- the fascia doesn't usually feel that tight
- the foot will mysteriously ache A LOT, several hours after exercise (as if the calf tightens the heel joints, compressing them, and causing pain).
So I'm gonna keep on top of working the joint, too.
