March 23, 2016 (Afternoon)
Exercise Type: Run
Weather: mid 50s, nice
Comments:
Ran solo with Jake at lunch - no Jeff at work. Busy AM, but good.
Felt TIRED on the run - and a bit allergy'd - but the HR stayed pretty low...'til we started to grind a bit.
GOOD chats with Jake over a nearly ten-mile run! Got it down to low-mid 7s over soft bark, but the HR was drifting to nearly 150 at times.
Focus:
- "fast triad"
- foot in right, rolling and pushing off (super important to prevent "stiff ankle" right)
- back arch to rear-propel the hips
- slight amount of pelvis right
- strong shoulder blades
Felt pretty good, even tough I was tired.
It's Jake's last week. He'll stick around in town next week, run Gorge, then apparently run (part of?) Sonoma before driving back to WI. It's been great to have him - he's SUPER-bright and ambitious, without being annoying about either. He's been good for me on the business end, brainstorming ideas.
As for running, it's just a damn shame I was hurt this whole time, but really thankful for a "normal run" with him!
PM: worked 'til 5:30, then home to work on Olga's gait analysis, then to Lonesome Randall with CA and Sara, who's back in town for one more day+night.
NO foot pain after the run, and only the slightest twinge of stiffness in the PM.
