easy PRE to SPFD

April 15, 2016 (Morning)

Exercise Type: Run

Comments:
Up early again to get in the easy run. Felt pretty good, including some 7:30s on the rolling bark. HR was pretty mellow. COLD this AM, with some rain and wind!

Good day at work. Raised a little rabble amongst coworkers about some "compensation changes" at work. I'm about to have my yearly review, and - while trying to ask down to 30 hours a week - I'm gonna try to address some of the financial strain we seem to be having (mostly due to us seeing more low-income insurances).

Got an allergy shot after that, then did some work, then CA and I went to view a new residence (didn't like it), then home to eat and beer, then to Hayward to watch Oregon Relays.

Charlotte Browning raced, but didn't do well. I helped her x3 times in a three week period, doing some majorly good work on her arms. But she now needs MAJOR work on staying forward engaged. After about 3 laps into the 5K, she was just running UPRIGHT. No power, no momentum. Got schooled by a rival teammate (Kimmmmberrr!), who has crappier form, but can just PLOW with an awesome forward engagement.

Charlotte's coach Ian Dobson, is being a stonewalling asshole: SUPER-controlling, at once being negative and not helpful for her (in both the mechanical and emotional support she needs) and NOT letting me help her: WON'T let me come to workouts, or adjust things even the slightest. So Charlotte "put things on hold" between her and I. Oh well! Damn shame, because she'll suffer majorly...all because of HIS ego. Classic road and track world stuff.

PM: got home at 9:30, and while CA was about to make us whipped cream for our ice cream dessert, she fucking DISLOCATED her shoulder, AGAIN. She reached low into the cabinet, and did this weird rotation to get the cord out, and it anteriorly dislocated (about 80%, as opposed to the 33% or so it did in December). She freaked out, and it took me a good solid minute (maybe less, but longer than the 5 seconds it took in December) to "reduce" it. She wasn't in terrible pain (both times she was wise not to move it), but it doesn't bode well. Once you dislocate it, it often gets worse...
