nauseating easy run + 4x200

July 21, 2016 (Morning)

Exercise Type: Run

Comments:
Another weird day: hammered breakfast on my own in the AM, then a 730 patient (went really well), then got in a quick run before my scheduled phone call with Greg MacMillan.

My breakfast was too heavy: eggs and garlic cheese curds...and heavy-creamed coffee afterward! So when it was time to run, I was downright nauseous! Ugh.

Ran easy from the office to campus, then a good 2.5 miles on the UO turf. It's a week-and-a-half out and they're still disassembling the trials! But it's good to have my field back. After that, my stomach felt better.

Ran from there back to SEHS for 4x200, which I haven't done in 3 weeks. Got there and Ben Blankenship was running-working out. We had a brief exchange when I was moving hurdles out of lane three ("we're using those!"), as I wanted to run clockwise.

200s felt SMOOOTH...but not fast. I was still QUITE haggard from Hardesty. Splits:

33.3, 34.1, 33.3, 33.5

Tried to "look good" in front of Ben...who had surprisingly deficient hip drive when running fast! He looked like...a quasi-efficient marathoner, which surprised me.

200s were...OK. Hard to say if I'm even running the right distance, since I had to count-off the stagger for lane 2, going backwards. Dunno...but I want these around 30.x!

Ran another 1.5 mile cooldown (ran into, then with, Laura Lee, one of my local coaching clients).

After that, hustled to get my phone and sat in my truck, talking with Greg MacMillian. He wants to collaborate on Running Gait Analysis for MacMillan group!

Some of his nuggets:

- wants to keep it "his brand" (so I'd be a contractor for MacMillan group)
- wants to significantly increase price ($260-->$400?)
- wants to take a sizeable chunk (we'll see how much)

It's clear that I'm still quite a newbie when it comes to this business stuff. I felt like a dumbass at time, so hopefully my naivete won't scare him off!

Rest of the day:
- to Oakway to lift (split squats!)
- home to clean up and eat
- coffee shop to work
- home to prep for mom & brandie to get here!
- met up with them, then drove to the coast!

Stayed in Yachats for the overnight, after dinner in Florence at Homegrown. Good to have 'em!
