CG + "Butte" loop

September 15, 2009 (Afternoon)

Exercise Type: Run

Weather: 70s, nice

Comments:
Got out early for the noon run. No running this morning. Felt my L knee all morning: did some foam roll and stretch beforehand but still felt achy...

Ran the usual to M, then up the Butte again, where I found this seemingly sweet 1200m loop on top. Did that twice. The only problem is it's very heavy gravel -- like shale volcanic rocks up to baseball size. It made it a bit TECH to run on. If it were pea gravel or DIRT, it'd be money. I'd do 10 laps up there.

Instead I did two, then carefully ran back down and did the rest of my CG town loop. Tried to relax and open up the stride. It felt MUCH better than yesterday. However, the knee was achy in the beginning, and again in the last 2 miles or so. NO orthotics again today; think I'm gonna have to get back to those.

Pretty uptempo, as I was thinking hard about form.

No weights in PM: didn't get out of work 'til 6:30 and, at this point, I may just cut it back to 1x/week or zero 'til after PDX.
