Grind tempo from home

August 16, 2016 (Morning)

Exercise Type: Run

Weather: 70s, getting hot and humid

Comments:
Had an 0730, so I worked, then found out my 845 needed to reschedule, so I went home to run.

Felt OK, but I could feel the soreness from the major weight session yesterday. Ran down the hill to Amazon, the longer way, to run into CA finishing her run. From there, I got on the bark.

The HR was elevated early and often. Not sure why. Felt easy enough, and I didn't feel particularly tired (slept pretty well last night). But the HR crept to high 140-low 150 without much effort.

Ran the same route, north on the crappy "bark" to Hilyard, then up the hills, rolling through the cemetary, then more up to Fairmount, down to campus, then up Agate, and back. I like this route because it's annoying hills, but finishes with a shit-load of flat.

Pretty mediocre splits, but again, not sure what's up with the HR. Could be fatigue, heat-humidity or something in the air?

-8ish pace for last near-mile

Had to deuce REALLY bad after that last tempo mile! Had to "walk it off", yeesh!

Solid run, but not sure if I should've been feeling better. Definitely some lingering fatigue from Saturday, but...dunno...

It's "funny" - maybe frustrating, but I guess not - how "slow" this is for a "tempo", but:

- I'm not being a bitch with the course (choosing major rollers and climbs, and shitty footing - to simulate racing)
- I used to over-push!

So this isn't so much slowing down as it is, doing the right thing!
