RunHub "easy" run

July 27, 2016 (Night)

Exercise Type: Run

Weather: nearly 90, hot, shitty air

Comments:
A couple good networking opps today:

- stopped at Recharge to meet those folks. Had a good chat, but they're not quite as "savvy" as I'd like them to be.
- ran with the RunHub Wed night group! Before that, did my first Monthly Injury Consult talk, then, before running, Dustin had a nice intro for me, which was great.

GREAT group. HUGE. Did warm-up drills out back, then got after it. I ran with Danielle, a UWL PT alum (class of '08) and we were PUSHING! And the crazy thing, we were out front on this six-mile loop.

Right away, like 1mi into the run, my HR was jacking >140. Not good. But we were having a nice chat, so I stuck with it. Then another guy ("Brandon") joined us. His story:

- just started running early 2016
- never run a race
- decided his FIRST RACE would be the Bigfoot 120 (?) or FatDog? One of those brutal 120s

I was asking "polite questions" trying to gauge is preparedness, and it wasn't good - like me trying to train for my first WS. So I gave him my card and said I'd "tell him all I knew, for two beers". :-)

After that, our group dissolved a bit. A couple more runners came up, Danielle disappeared, and suddenly I was like, "F this, slow down!" So I let them go and shuffled like 8-highs, just to keep the HR at 140.

Post-run: chatted with some more folks and handed out one more business card.

Good day.
