May 30, 2016 (Morning)
Exercise Type: Run
Comments:
Slept pretty good, then got up and ran easy in the AM. The road is closed at the "TH", so we basically ran the road, devoid of cars (except maybe two Park Ranger cars). Running the road, through the empty, flooded-out campgrounds was like a post-apocalyptic scene: barren, quiet, but still 'civilized".
Ran SUPER easy - and felt a little rough - all the way to the old dam site, which quite an upward slog. Once there, we were treated to more solitude: the only reservoir, en route to natural restoration, with the narrow river flowing through the falls. Pretty cool.
Ran back, a bit faster.
Rest of the day:
- breakfast in the sun, looking at Mt Olympus to the south
- packed up and drove to Port Townsend for coffee and some work
- LONG drive home!
Good trip!
