September 19, 2009 (Morning)
Exercise Type: Run
Weather: 50s, rain
Comments:
Woke up at 0630, sort of intending on running with Matt but he was nowhere to be found -- or seemingly still sleeping. I posted some pics online over a couple cups of tea, then hit the road at 0745.
It's odd: I haven't run from home in WEEKS. Crazy. Felt pretty good out of the gate this morning, right away working on stride (quality and length). I was a little tired from last night but not bad.
CRUISED along and midway on Rexius had to slow myself down. By mid-Rex it had begun to legit rain, which was kind of nice. Wish I had my visor...
L knee was fine, despite aching all last night. Turns out Jeff won't look at my back 'til Monday. Should be OK...
Finished up pretty good, with a climb up to Pre's Rock, then home pretty quickly: about 6:10 pace on the markers. N'bad, n'bad. A little bonky, though: I felt low on energy.
At 11 I met Phil in Pleasant Hill and we headed up for an overnight at Maiden Peak "ski shelter", which turned out to be this sweet two-story log cabin in the middle of the woods! 3-4 mile hike in, with beers. Got there around 4ish and just chilled the rest of the night. The only bad news was my damn heels got blisters! F.
