Comments:
Straight from LLM, I drove south to Martin St to meet Alexis. She seems to have some pretty good talent, but I wanted to assess her skills on the hills. We ran about a mile on the flat, easy (apparently her easy is like 9-10min pace at 14x HR, which is great!). From there we hit Baldy.
Had her lead first, going about 40% of the way up. Solid climbing, but a little slow-footed. We stopped to chat, then went at it again, working on "Tall & Forward", all the way to the top.
From there, we hit the downs -- so-so. Slow-footed and relatively slow. So we stopped at Dillard and worked on "quick feet", with me leading. She hung in pretty good. Once at the bottom, we did a half-Baldy again, then back to the cars.
Fun stuff! I think the challenge with her won't be running, but the *other stuff* -- namely her RENA (30-minute HIIT), which she does 3x-week!
