May 7, 2017 (Afternoon)
Exercise Type: Run
Weather: sunny, but a little cool...but warmed up
Comments:
Lazy AM, then worked, then finally got out for a run at 1. I drove solo to Bristow, since I had our district entries meeting at 3. I'm still not "hungry" for long-long runs. That, and I was now short on time, so i had time only for 3x the 3.x mile loop.
Loop was in much better shape: some muddy spots, but pretty gummy, and only one puddle of standing water. Otherwise, really nice running.
This is a fantastic loop, because:
- it's flat, but doesn't feel flat (like less than 10' per mile?)
- it's smooth but varied
- it's in the trees, but also open
- it's fast but not really fast
Perfect variety!
I'm trying REALLY hard to "Find Ease" - both physical but cognitive: to just find the form, then let it go. I think back to when I tried to correct KacR's form during her stupid-ass 8x3min she had to do here (back in 9-2014) and how she snapped at me, not wanting to hear ANYTHING. I think I get it now. That [over-]thought can make running a lot more (neurologically) difficult.
So...rather than push, I just found ease as best I could. And I felt pretty good. Still heavy in the legs, but good.
Splits-lap
1: 22:0x
2: 21:0x
3: 20:07
Solid. Jogged about a half-mile cooldown, then drove into P.Hill for the entries meeting, then drove to Oakway to lift....then CA and I worked on the garden for an hour before home.
