August 8, 2017 (Morning)
Exercise Type: Run
Weather: mid 80s, smokey
Comments:
Slept OK enough, then treated an AM client, then got out to run. Already quite hot.
Thought about a 2x2-mile tempo, but since I may be racing on Saturday, I figured I'd do a old-tyme 3-mile tempo.
Short-warm-up, drills, strides, then off to it. I thought I'd cut down, but it was a progressive effort just to maintain. Splits:
5:50, 5:48, 5:50
Worked hard on:
- Tall & FORWARD! (loading the left glute, in particular)
- pawback
- strong feet
Felt strong enough, but damn, the heat and smoke air got things asthmatic, quick.
2-mile cooldown. A little allergen'd the rest of the day.
