February 2, 2018 (Afternoon)
Exercise Type: Run
Weather: 60? warm-ish
Comments:
After TBC, I hustled home and saw a new patient at 11, then hustled to get the rental car. I left straight from Hertz to Hardesty for my first Constitutional in a lonnnng time.
Felt OFF all day; potentially some "hangover" from the laculose test. Effort felt fine, but just...slow and sluggish.
Worked on DEEP breathing: most of it nose-breathing going up Hardesty, which was cool. But...my split was disappointing:
69:15
Sat up there for 2:00, then kept on. Pushed it a bit on the Sawtooth for a decent split:
27:40
Peed, then kept going. Started to feel sluggish and a little dizzy on that descent. Lackluster split down Lost Creek Trail to the road:
25:52
On the road...I tried to open and push. THIS is the place to really work on The Hinge: to sink into the downhill and use the hips, rather than "stand up". Gosh, I thought I was moving OK - and had sub-6 on my watch, but another crap split for this downhill 5K:
19:30
From there, it was onto Goodman. I like to PUSH this, but had no mojo today. Felt pretty rough, like hungover. So I just "ran" and "breathed". The loop was super-muddy but more gummy than slick.
Goodman: 39:30
Finish: 3:04.
Pretty lackluster. 2:5x is moving on this loop, so to be nearly a minute-per-mile off...disappointing. That said...I did run in the AM (with hill sprints) and have a hard week, thus far.
PM:
- hustled home to get ready
- picked Maddy up
- drove to Seattle
- our Airbnb is nice...but terrible lack of darkness in our "Room", which is basically a townhouse living room.
