SIBO test...and crappy-ass run

February 1, 2018 (Afternoon)

Exercise Type: Run

Weather: mid 50s, nice

Comments:
Today I had to do this "Small Intestine Bacteria Overgrowth" (SIBO) Test. My naturopath thinks this could be part of why, post- (and maybe pre?) giardia, that I'm so frequently feeling like ass and not digesting things.

The set-up:
- yesterday I had to eat meat-only (not bad, just no beer)
- today: NO COFFEE
- treated x3 clients
- after that, I had to drink this "lactulose" drink (some special fermentable sugar), then collect my own breath samples, every 20min for 3 hours!

Not sure when I'll get the results...but I have a feeling it's positive. The off-gasses of small intestine bacteria are hydrogen and methane. My breath "tasted" like ASS! And it made me feel like that, too.

Post-this test, I went running and, since I felt TERRIBLE, made it an errand run:

- dropped off the test, and picked up a POOP test (next fun!)
- got CA's updated rings
- ran back to the office
- ran to Tugman, then to the coffee shop to break the fast

SLUGGISH. It was all I could do to just run, so (since I had my credit card on me), I finished my run at Allan Bros, and broke the fast with a quarter-caff americano, a quiche, and a cookie!

Felt better...but off for the rest of the night.
