Prescott, AZ - Thumb Butte loop with CA

February 16, 2018 (Afternoon)

Exercise Type: Run

Weather: 40s, but sunny and super-dry

Comments:
SUPER-early flight. Up at 3:20 or so, out the door by 3:45 and to the airport just after 4. Surprisingly long and slow security line, then otherwise fine travel to Phoenix. Met CA, who got in from Fresno at nearly the exact same time.

From there:

- got our rental car
- went to breakfast (gluten free place) in Phoenix, which was decent
- drove north to Flagstaff

Felt REALLY low all day. Is it psychology, or travel, or the physiology of:

- having a fucked-up GI
- having NO caffeine or alcohol since Saturday

Either way, I was pretty low. Didn't feel too cranked, edgy or anxious, just..."flat".

Got to Prescott ("Press-KIT"), checked in early to our airbnb, then went for a run.

Felt...BRUUUUTAL. So slow and heavy. Altitude was a factor, but we're only at 5500'. It was rough enough that I even stopped to walk on some of the uphills of this route, which ran west toward the foothills on the skirts of town.

Ran about 4 miles, total (I think). CA added on to do strides, so I reluctantly went along. Felt OK, just heaaavy.

PM:
- cleaned up, then NAPPED
- drove around to see the sunset
- early dinner at Barley Hound (?). Good food, but no beer for me.
- to bed at a reasonable hour.
