The END of a long week. I didn't have any patients, but had worse: TAXES. CA had a busy morning, so I got up with her, did some strength, then got to work.

TAXES...SUCK when you haven't kept up on bookkeeping. I'd done pretty well in '16, but much less organized this year. It took forever, and I failed to account for all of my personal itemized things, but fuck it, I needed it done. Got it all assembled and express-mailed it to my cousin.

But I finally got a tally for 2017: $116,668.10 in gross income! This isn't a bragging number, but it's damn notable. That's probably twice my take-home from my staff PT job (say, in 2015 or so). And I didn't work *that* hard -- arguably, much less hard. I guess if you work hard, take a chance, and do good stuff...you're rewarded -- as opposed to being risk-averse and otherwise miserable (and under-compensated). There's more to be made in '18, and hopefully with less time.

Got the taxes shipped off but was feeling pretty tired. Went to the gym with CA to lift, then we hustled to practice.

I thought we were overdue for something fun, so I checked out "The Billie Bus" (the 14-passenger mini-bus), and we took the kids -- all five that we had, minus the Mr Billie involvees -- and we drove to Eugene to run up Skinner Butte. Neither of the five kids -- all of whom that live within 10 miles of it -- had never been to the top, so that was fun. We ran about 6 miles, easy, out and back to the summit. It was good, and a nice break for the kids.

It's been a long goddamn week. To them at the top, I simply said, "Wherever you're at, whatever's going on, have gratitude for doing what we get to do". I hope that resonated.

PM: Thornton came over for a beer and chatted for quite a while. He gave CA and I some inside information and insights from adminstration. Daelyn's mom is now completely off the deep-end. Since her "investigation" is going nowhere, she went to the OSAA to log some allegations of rule violations -- that also went nowhere.

We did the right thing. *I* did the right thing. We found "The virus", for sure: the entire source of ALL the negativity and bullshit amongst the girls (if not the whole group). It's gone, she's gone, but let's hope for minimal collateral effects.
