hard 800, 4-3-1, 4-3-1, 4 (mid-distance workout)

April 10, 2018 (Morning)

Exercise Type: Run

Weather: fairly nice, but sprinking on and off

Comments:
Weird, shitty day. Slept like ass, but was able to sleep in. I'd blocked out the afternoon to do work, then had my 7 and 8AMs cancel, so nobody today!

Did "work" at home 'til like 1: x3 phone chats with clients, and general and coaching paperwork. Around 1 I got my ass out the house and went to Home Depot to buy a leaf blower for the driveway! Did that fairly well, then CA got home.

Bad combo of "bad day" plus major pollen splooge. The trucks are COVERED in yellow. So I was not in good spirits, going into practice.

We had a good day, though:

Distance: 5x800m (1st, 5th "fast", 2-4 at 3K pace)
Mid-distance: fast 8, 2x(400, 300, 100) FAST with compete rest, then hard 400m

CA ran with Maddy, doing the distance workout (along with Hunter, Sam and Morgan), while I ran with Jaesa and the boys (Callan, Kyler/Amar). Favio was a DNS due to his achilles.

Solid workout, but wow...do I suck. My splits:

2:3x? (I think 2:30 low)
73, 54, ?
72, 54, ?
73

Could NOT believe how hard those felt. Just depressing. But I didn't dwell on that, and focused on the kids. Jaesa ran solid. Callan ran AWESOME (like 59-61 pace for the 4s and 3s). CA and Maddy had an outstanding workout! All 5 8s in the low to mid 2:50s!

PM: home, dinner, then to hunt social to have a "Debrief" on David getting lost at Hardesty: a chat that included OD, who was in on the Search & Rescue ops! David got SOOO damn lucky. How he managed to "bushwack" to the top of Hardesty and find it, is like a 1-1000 shot.

R heel really stiff and sore afteward.
