February 2, 2019 (Morning)
Exercise Type: Run
Weather: mid 40s, foggy, but no rain
Comments:
Slept in, sort of, then did some work -- r-log catch-up! -- for wayyy too long before readying to run. Worked on CA, trying to free up some stuff in her pelvis and sacrum. Still not certain where the dysfunction is coming from (Note: I did not do PNF on her, afterward. I should have).
Feeling a bit hungover this morning from the heavy-dairy cake last night...then REALLY felt hungover during the run. Not as acute as last week, but just super-heavy. Oh well.
Ran from EWEB, through PRE to Springfield, up and over 2nd street hill, into Dorris Ranch. It felt grindy from two miles in (mostly CA's doing?) and from there, never felt much ease.
Unfortunately at six miles, CA's weird hip symptoms kicked in. She had to stop and stretch then, and again at 9 miles -- both times, about a mile after a big hill climb.
My stride felt...OK. Legs are heavy from a pretty big week (the Germany trip, then daily miles of at least 7-8 per day), and weights/strength on consecutive days. But I did my best to:
* pelvis posterior
* chest relaxed down
* pawback (flick & pull)
Ankles were stiff in the first mile or two, then variably so, therafter.
Splits:
8:35
8:17
8:03
7:35
7:54 (up and over)
7:36
7:47
7:52 (" ")
7:38
7:37
7:24
7:03
Gave it a good push in the final mile through Alton Baker on the bike path. CA had a lot of symptoms in that final push, which was frustrating.
Rest of the day:
* washed my truck! (It was super-rough, parked under the trees without a garage)
* home for brunch
* home stuff
* NAP
Wore the TOPO Ultrafly. Not thrilled with them; they're OK. 5mm drop (instead of FlyLite's 3mm).
