OFF - travel to Baltimore

March 21, 2019 (Morning)

Exercise Type: Other

Weather: rainy

Comments:
Up not horribly early, but cut it close to the airport. Thank god for TSA PRE!

Pretty uneventful travel: to Denver, then to Baltimore. Unfortunately, I was 40 minutes late to the class.

To review (for BGD): I’ve decided to embark on a rigorous (WSER-caliber) manual therapy certification in August. It’s going to require arguably more time (and more money for sure) than WSER, with hopefully some lasting payoff. The extra 4 letters after my name – and the skills developed – will make my professional ability next-level.

As part of that, I’m taking at least SIX courses, starting last November, preceding testing in August:
Gait November 2018 Redmond, WA
PNF I February 2019 Portland, OR
Functional Mobilization II March 2019 Annapolis, MD
Functional Mobilization I April 2019 Eugene, OR
Functional Mob – Upper Quadrant May 2019 Des Moines, IA
CoreFirst Stategies June 2019 ??
Functional Mob – Lower Quadrant July 2019 Portland, OR

This was round #3, FMII in Annapolis. It’s taught by Gregg Johnson, the co-founder of the Institute of Physical Art (IPA). I’ve only met him a handful of times, but he’s been a significant role model and mentor, so I was excited to see him and take a course from him for the first time in over four years!
Thursday night class went pretty well: 5:40 to after 10PM (EDT). I have a pretty awesome lab partner! Her name is Nadine, she’s cute (but, as it turns out, lesbian, I think) but she’s super-smart, funny and a great manual PT!!!
