Slept decent. AT 4AM I had a dream about doing this workout with several of my old college teammate! :-)
Up at 5, and out the door a little late. Had to stretch my back and legs out a bit. Thankfully the ankles weren't bad at all!
Mike Taylor agreed to do this workout, since we're ALSO going to double-back with Hardesty tonight! When we got to the track at 5:36, he was already warming up. So we did the smaller SEHS loop with a deuce-stop (corn soup last night!), and when we got to the track, he was already into his grind mile!
We went to the bark to do ours. CA led: pretty easy at first, then once we hit the half (3:12) she put on the gas. We finished in 6:06 (2:54?). I felt pretty heavy but energy was OK.
Jogging b ack to the track, Mike was already balls-deep into his second set of 400s! Well, shit. So we ran on our own.
CA led the first one. I told her to keep it easy and not put pressure on herself to run fast, which was a good thing....because she was a little slow: 84. Oh well.
I led the evens, going a little faster: 82.x. #2 was 83, then #4 was another 82.x
Between sets...we put on the spikes! It's not because we needed them, but pretty soon we're going to do all-comer meets, and it pays to "acclimatize".
After the first set, we switched to clockwise (now that Mike was completely done), running 82.x for #5.
By then, both CA was coming around, and I was feeling really good. So, for the remaining three, I went faster, pushing the second half. Then, for the last one, we went back to CCW and I cut down a little sooner.
The overall splits:
84
82
82
82
81
75 (40, 35)
75 (40, 35)
72 (38, 34)
Good workout!
Weights afterward, then work, then studying.
