McKenzie River Trail - RS to a bit past Deer Creek and back

June 8, 2019 (Morning)

Exercise Type: Run

Weather: 50s, nice

Comments:
Good run, but TIRED! Slept it a bit, but not much, then drove out to the MRT for a long run.

Plan Part 1 was to do 20 miles
Part 2 was to do some sort of uptempo on the return.

Neither happened, but it was still a good run.

Ankles were so-so but came around...but I just felt really tired! Not "adrenal fatigue tired" like a year ago...just tired, like I didn't want to push.

So we didn't. I led for a while, then CA. We ran mid 9s on the upstream. I thought I'd come around more, so when I didn't, I decided to bag the run at 9 miles and turn back.

Downstream was a bit faster: low 9s/high 8s, but nothing spectacular. Ran into Tim Hooten (the current MRTR RD) and we ran with him from 7 miles out to 3 miles out.

Solid run, but, yeah, we're TIRED.

Rest of the day:
* hauled ass back to town
* showered/quick breakfast at home
* study session with Emily at her PT clinic in West Eugene. Emily is another PT in town who is also testing for CFMT. She's older, and super-type-A. I met her at the FMI class in April and wasn't sure if we were going to study together, but she reached out this week, so we met up. Studied for three hours and it went REALLY WELL. This could be really helpful

Saturday night:
* grad parties! The first was a South Eugene kid party - a "client familiy"/local runner in town. It was a little South Eugene-y, but otherwise good
* Jaesa's party out in the country, east of Pleasant Hill. She's for sure our "favorite" kid of our two years' coaching there. Stayed there for quite a while, hanging by a fire ring, pounding Coors Lights! Fun night...and when you get to coach good kids, and form good relationships with the parents...it reminds you about the great parts of coaching.
