Zion NP - Angels Landing + West Rim solo

January 19, 2020 (Morning)

Exercise Type: Walk

Weather: mid 40s to 50/nice

Comments:
Got to the TH slightly earlier, but it was even busier.

CA did 15 miles, solo, while I hiked: the same uphill as yesterday, then - for me - all the way to the treacherous end of the Angels Landing lookout! Icy, steep trail with chains to keep you from falling to your death! I survived...but my phone nearly didn't! On the way down it slipped out of my pocket and almost fell 1500'!

Once back down from the cool lookout, I ran into CA, who turned back from the West Rim trail due to snow. I went where she came from, hiking up to the plateau 'til the snow, then back. We met back at the car at 3hrs.

I got in at least 8 miles. Felt remarkably good! Not much heel pain.

Ate brunch back at the house, after lattes :-)
