Slept in at our awesome rental on Government Camp.

THANKFULLY I felt WAY better in the AM, than last night. The rib work I had CA do really helped. But I was still damn sore from the ski wipeout. SO lucky it wasn't any worse.

Slowly got our things together, with the goal toda of skiing uphill, "from town", all the way to the top of Timeberline Ski Area (which is probably 3/4 up Mt Hood).

Got coffee and breakfast at the shop in town, then drove the mile to the east end of town, where there's this tiny ski area. Suited up and uphill skied from there!

* up along "Summit"ski area
* onto "Alpine Trail" - basically a dedicated wide trail for uphill skiing

That took us about 2.5 miles up to the west end of the ski area. From there, we shuffled uphill, graduall through the main ski area, above the treeline to the top most lift!

The weather was arguably too warm, but the snow was OK...and we were basically in T-shirts 'til we got to the ski hill! The sun was great to see

About 80% of the way there, we saw a couple guys...one of which is Willie McBride, a PDX guy that co-owns Wyeast Wolfpack with Yassine. Small world! Skied uphill with him a bit and chatted.

The last bit was tough: steep and ICY! We basically had to punch our skis through the ice (melted snow crust) to get traction to get to the top.

Eventually, we finally made it. We could've gone a bit higher...but the down-ski would've been treacherous. so we simply "transformed" to DH mode, then skied down the run!

From there, we went to the Lodge...and had a most delicous beer break! SO fun! Busy in there, but cozy and cool. And good hazy pale!

After that, we got back on the skis and flew down the 2.5 miles to Govey and the truck!

AWESOME DAY. SO FUN.

Rest of the day:
* back to the house, to eat a bit
* I whipped up an early(ish) dinner
* thought about night skiing, but the weather was RAINY in town (where SkiBowl is)
* went to the outdoor hottub instead!

Fun day.
