February 4, 2020 (Morning)
Exercise Type: Run
Weather: dark, 30F?
Comments:
CA had to run super-early because today, she's getting "basal cell carcinoma" removed from a spot on her face!
Got up at 5. I decided to "go with" on the run to support her. We parked at InShape and she ran to Hendricks Park to do hill repeats. I lifted quickly (15min deadlift, bench press, etc), then drove to Hendricks.
Got there when she was into rep 2: 300m paved uphill, then a 500m gravel/trail downhill in the loop. I walked in the other direction.
I walked about a half-lap before I started doing short jogs (in my ankle sleeve): 30-seconds on, 10-30+ seconds off.
Felt ok, then stiff.
Then, I remembered: I need to soften my low back (and not over-extend at low lumbar). Seemingly, the ankle fely WAYYY better after that! Ran farther and even ran some downhill.
Covered about 1.5 miles and ran maybe 0.75.
Post-run: drove back to InShape and walked around more while CA cooled down to the van.
Rest of the day:
* I wore my big strappy brace. Ankle seemingly felt fine.
* cleaned up and drove to her appointment. I sat with her for the two hour procedure. Went well.
* home to eat
* worked noon - 4
