February 9, 2020 (Morning)
Exercise Type: Run
Comments:
Slept in today, then we went to my office so I could work on CA before her long run. She's pretty healed up in the face, so running is good to go for her.
After she left, I resigned to go hike...but for whatever reason, I decided to try running - mostly because the ankle (after that sore period Friday) has otherwise been fine.
Moreover, I wanted to try running with bonafide KNEE-OUT focus. I feel like this has been the missing link for a lot of things, including (even) whole-foot strike.
So that's what I did: without a brace(! this is noteworthy!) I hiked 15min at 4mph at 15% grade. Felt fine.
Then I began running: at first for 60s, walking 30, beginning at 6.x mph and working up to nearly 8.0.
Felt...OK! Got to over 3 miles and made myself stop. Previously, it's hurt a lot later: that afternoon/next day.
But...no issues!
Cool.
I didn't tell CA. Didn't want to get her hopes up.
Rest of the day:
* got in a solid lift (high reps first two sets, then PUSHED weight in both deadlift(165) and bench(145))
* had a (somewhat annoying) coaching meeting with Mike, my oldest client. Some poor communication on things that was KEY to clear up. And good reminder on the type of value I need to deliver.
