FIRST REAL PAIN-FREE RUN - Tugam/Rexius with CA

February 12, 2020 (Morning)

Exercise Type: Run

Weather: high 30s, chilly, stagnant air

Comments:
CA had a short race-week easy run today, so we chose to do it together! It was risky to consider an "early" AM (right after waking up) run, but the ankle was amazingly not-very-stiff. Nonetheless, I did a lot of stretching beforehand.

If anything, the most soreness is in my feet and lower legs, in general, and extra in my right soleus and post tib. This is undoubtedly from doing a major focus on "knee out" -- which, I think, could TRULY be the panacaea for my run stride.

We drove to Hideaway (for the purpose of post-run OMLs and cookies). From there, we briefly hopped on the bark, then onto Hilyard to run to Tugman Park, then old Dillard to the West Amazon bark. Ran all the way down, did pull-ups, then ran back.

Felt...GOOD! I stopped to walk twice (but very little soreness), otherwise...it was just HARD!

Interestingly, it's neither difficult to do or self-monitor the knee-out. I did it well and consistently.

And the ankle was FINE.

Success!!

So great!

Post-run:
* OML, but had to hustle home
* breakfast (solo, while CA was getting hair cut)
* worked 11-5

Great day worth celebrating!!

(But MAN, I'm out of run shape!)
