June 5, 2020 (Morning)
Exercise Type: Bike
Weather: overcast, cool
Comments:
Slept up on the Perpetua Road. To get in some extra mileage, I had CA drive solo to town, while I biked up (east) the Perpetua Road where it summits out, then ride the connector FS road down to Yachats River Rd. The road is pretty rough, but I handled it OK in January, so I gave it a go.
First couple miles: TONS of climbing: 750' in two miles, then well over 1000' overall before turning off. Got like 1200' in 8 miles down to the creek...when CA was there with the van! Turns out I took the parts to her front wheel!). So we just road out and back from the creek park.
Easy out (in the wind) and back. I felt pretty darn tired and heavy, but otherwise OK.
Rest of the day:
* quick parking lot shower
* drove to Yachats and I treated my client Alan
* brunch at Smelt Sands
* walked/sat along the beach
* happy hour beers at Yachats Brewing (combo in and out, open air)
That afternoon we found out the wedding of Callie's cousin, William, scheduled for 4:30pm Saturday...was being moved up to **9AM**! (And we had to be there at 8:30!). That changed the plans. We drove north and dined take-out at Local Ocean, then drove to Lincoln City and found a quiet (seeming)"Knight County Park", along the Salmon River, on a cool point near the coast. From there, it's 2 hours to PDX
