August 6, 2020 (Morning)
Exercise Type: Run
Weather: ...mist!
Comments:
Woke up at 5:45. Actually more like 5:30.
Slept crappy again. The pattern: Sleep "OK" until about 3 or 4 AM, then have a terrible time falling back asleep. It seems impervious to whether or not I take allegra (which used to help). Chocolate last night didn't help...
The fun goal was to get up and just get out: no dicking around, no "prehab"...just be able to get up, get dressed and RUN.
So that's what I did! Ankle felt fine in the AM, so I quickly got my shit together and drove down to SEHS and launched into a campus loop.
Felt...GREAT! A teeny bit of stiffness, early, but a trifle of the last couple years.
The stride felt really good, too! Ran mid 7s without a ton of effort: big change from the past few runs.
A rare August rain hit today, beginning to mist about midway through the run, then ending about mid-day.
REALLY encouraging.
Rest of the day:
* worked 7-9
* coffee w/CA at Hideaway
* home to work, then brunch
Some mid-day stiffness, but it's feeling more orthopedic (manageable tissue, vs nasty global tension)
