(stiff ankle/shitty air-inducing) depressing easy Fox Hollow Lorane

August 13, 2020 (Morning)

Exercise Type: Bike

Comments:
Didn't run today. The ankle was stiff and it appears that my nerve tension is bad again. Frustrating!

BAD AIR AND (ANTI-HISTAMINE):

Didn't take any allegra last night and, as a result, awoke (significantly) in the middle of the night for the first time since Saturday.

AM work was OK...but by mid-day I was feeling histamine'd (though I didn't fully realize it): low energy, bad mood...

A lot of the mental reason was the frustration about my ankle...but in reality, a ton of it was the bad air. This time of year the upper valley (grass seed) farmers plow their bone-dry fields, releasing MASSIVE plumes of dust that never drop: they just accumulate into a nasty haze (along with all the other pollutants), which floats into the southern valley over our heads.

Around 5pm, after contemplating a nap, I fought that and got out for a ride. Getting up high on Fox Hollow illuminated to me how bad it was. Once I got home and popped an allegra, I felt a TON better within an hour.

Today: did a couple key stretches:

1. Ankle PF (sitting on my heels)

2. Prone on elbow upper back/lower necks stretching. This is an oldie and one of the few effective upper thorax openers. I used to do this, like, ten years ago (McKenzie Method), but let it go. Did a bunch while watching TV. Super-stiff/sore. I think it'll help with nerve tension.
