Got up REALLY EARLY (like 0515) and saw decent weather conditions at Willamette Pass -- and found the Crescent Lake trail area -- so I packed up and got rolling by 0730.
Got up to Crescent Lake and it was like 31.999999. Snow was pretty packed, but you could tell it was melting, then froze over night, so it was crusty and kind of shitty.
The "trial" was a dirt road that, maybe a few days ago, was groomed, but since then a billion snowmobiles rolled over it. It wasn't terrible to ski on, but with how shitty I am, it wasn't fun. Went out for maybe 10min, then circled back. F.
Hopped in the car and made my way to Willamette. By then (930), the lot was damn near full! The cc trails were wideopen (per usual), and pretty well groomed. However, the snow was VERY STICKY, which sucked for skating.
Did a big out and back loop. Felt OK at best -- really wasn't that fun. Biffed it like 4-5x, mostly because the snow was so sticky.
Packed it up and got down to Oakridge at 1120, only to find that Brewers Union didn't open 'til 1200. Double F. I didn't want to wait so I just drove home.
Took a 3hr nap, cleaned my room...and didn't do shit 'til like 930. Grocery shopped at WinCo at 1000, then home.
WOW, what a great break. :|
