Exercise Type: Run
Weather: 80s, nice
Comments:
BAD DAY.
Slept OK but not great. Got up, had some decaf coffee, but also had TWO Rx Bars before the run, then met Andrew at Spring Creek TH.
The plan:
• drop my van at Spring Creek (mile 50)
• drive to Fish Creek Falls (mile 17) and run back to the van, via the course
Immediately from the get-go I felt like shit, and had trouble breathing, even with just a moderate uphill hike from the creek. Bad news.
From there...it just didn't get better. I felt totally "central governor shutdown-y": super heavy legs, didn't want to run anything, and just felt BAD.
Things were OK enough to Long Lake (7 miles in), but then they just got worse, running north toward Summit. Finally, around 11 miles, I told Andrew I was going to turn back. So I did.
Felt BAD. Running downhill felt crappy. Flat worse. Uphill, impossible.
Frankly, I thought I was sick, like maybe I had covid? I considered going to buy a test after the run...but then I considered...maybe it's the bars?
I tested moderately high for the following things:
• nuts (cashews > almonds)
• "Fructose" (dates?)
So I think it's overdoing those bars.
Interestingly, as I shuffled back toward Fish Creek and Andrew's car...I FINALLY began to feel better. By then, though, the legs were pretty cashed.
Bummer.
But I think I learned something!
Rest of the day:
• to Natty for food
• to Garrett's to eat
• NAP!
• back to OTHS for weights/soak! (Can't remember if I soaked after the run, or in the afternoon)
