Got an email from my friend Phil, a former patient from last summer -- his wife was running the marathon and was wondering if I was. He also mentioned he was leaving Tuesday (tonight) to head to San Diego to AGAIN through-hike the entire Pacific Crest Trail. I saw him in a flash along the marathon course, but not afterwards, so he swung by the office for a noon bike ride.
We rode from the office to the Row River Trail -- which is like Stokke/RCT in Meno, except a little more BOMB, since it climbs above a dam and above a huge reservoir. Nice leisurely ride as we talked about my race and his upcoming 2650mi hike! Sheesh! Kinda jealous -- very cool he gets to do that AGAIN.
I rode with him nearly back to his house (about 10mi out of town), bid him farewell/good luck, then rode back into town. A bit tired, but a good ride -- maybe 17 miles.
